Pregnancy Essentials! First Trimester Must Haves!

Finding out you are pregnant is so exciting… but also scary… and hard! I had an extremely difficult first trimester but thankfully I found some items that really helped to make it a little easier.

I’m sharing my first trimester pregnancy essentials and must haves!

11 First Trimester Must-Haves!

It is super important to start taking prenatal vitamins as soon as you find out you are pregnant and throughout your entire pregnancy. I started taking prenatal vitamins when we started trying to conceive.

Unfortunately, most prenatal vitamins made me extremely nauseous and sick the first trimester. After trying numerous ones, this is the only one that didn’t make me sick!

Staying hydrated is very important when you are pregnant and growing a little baby. Within a week of finding out I was pregnant I no longer wanted water, one sip and I was done.

I became extremely dehydrated and lethargic. Liquid IV saved the day!!

You simply mix one packet into 16 ounces of water and it gives you the same hydration level of 3 bottles of water! I drink at least 1 Liquid IV a day now.

3. Lapdesk

Working from home while you are sick is a huge blessing but even sitting at my desk in my home office was really hard.

Immediately after the all day sickness kicked in I bought this lapdesk so that I could work right from my couch or bed and still be productive.

My favorite feature of the lapdesk is the built in mousepad so that I didn’t have to work off of the laptop’s trackpad and could work faster.

Have you experienced the 3am starving attacks?! They are intense!

During the day I barely had an apatite from being so sick but around 2 or 3 in the morning, I woke up HUNGRY! Obviously at 3am you don’t want to eat a full meal.

This is when Instant Breakfast was a life saver!! Its super fast, just a packet of Instant Breakfast and a cup of milk mixed together and I had a delicious chocolate shake. I was back in bed within 5 minutes. It also has 13 vitamins and minerals so I felt like I was putting something nutritious into my body.

Pregnancy headaches are on a whole other level, mostly because all you can take is Tylenol and that doesn’t nothing for mine.

Thankfully I found this eye mask massager and it is a GAME CHANGER for headaches or even when you just want to relax. It has multiple different massage, heat, vibration and music settings.

Every time I put it on I feel likes I’m at the spa!

The day that I found out I was pregnant I went on Amazon and bought this pregnancy journal

I am using it do journal my feelings, experiences, symptoms, and letters to my baby.

I plan is to fill the journal up over the years with letters and funny sayings that he/she says over the years and then give it to them when they are older.

Vitamin B6 and Unisom are the dynamic duo to help prevent morning (all day) sickness for the next day.

Every night I would take Vitamin B6 and Unisom together and the next day my symptoms were a lot less than if I didn’t take them. For me, they didn’t take away the nausea all together but for some people it does.

Unisom is a sleep aid so it also helps you sleep so its a double win!

When the nausea hit these Preggie Pop Drops were so helpful. I don’t know if it was the strong sour flavor to distract me or the vitamins in them. They also have other flavors if you aren’t a fan of sour candies.

The morning Sickness Sweets were also a favorite of mine for helping with nausea.

I was very surprised with how fast the hip pain came in the first trimester, especially hip flexor pain!

Multiple times throughout the day and especially before bed I use this massage gun to help relieve the leg, neck, shoulder and hip flexor pain!

This trio of vitamins are great to take on a daily basis but especially right now to help fight covid. I take Zinc, Vitamin D3 and Vitamin C every single day.
