8 DIY Household Cleaner Recipes

Tired of strong chemical cleaners?

 

Today, I’m sharing 8 DIY household cleaner recipes with ingredients that you probably already have under your kitchen sink!

You will need:

 
*Tip: I recommend using dedicated colored microfiber cleaning clothes for different tasks, so that you aren’t cleaning your counters with the same cloth you clean the toilets with.

Glass Cleaning Spray

Use with spray bottle & microfiber cleaning cloth:

  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons rubbing alcohol
  • 3 drops essential oil

All Purpose Disinfecting Spray

Use with spray bottle & microfiber cleaning cloth:

  • 1 1/4 cups water
  • 1/4 cup white vinegar
  • 1/4 cup vodka or rubbing alcohol
  • 15 drops essential oil

Floor Cleaning Spray

Use with spray bottle & microfiber cleaning cloth:

  • 1 3/4 cups warm water
  • 1-2 drops castile soap
  • 3-5 drops essential oil

Countertop/Stone Cleaning Spray

Use with spray bottle & microfiber cleaning cloth:

  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 2 tablespoons rubbing alcohol
  • 1/4 teaspoon castile or dish soap

Fabric Refresher Spray

Use with spray bottle:

  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup vodka (or rubbing alcohol)
  • 10 drops essential oil

Disinfecting Spray

  • Put a sprayer on a hydrogen peroxide bottle
  • Let sit for 10-15 minutes and wipe clean

Note: Do not spray on fabric.

Bathroom Scrub

Store in a glass jar:

  • 2 cups baking soda
  • 20 drops of essential oil 

When cleaning, sprinkle scrub and then add a squirt of castile or dish soap for a deeper clean.

Sink Scrub

Store in a glass jar:

  • 2 cups baking soda
  • 20 drops of essential oil
  • a squirt of Castile or dish soap in the sink
